Spring Valley : Nice intro to the hills. Not the greatest road surface once you get into Madera County but seems better than it has been in the past. About 44 miles and 1,500 feet of climbing round trip from Woodward Park.

Wildcat - Watts Valley - Burrough Valley : This route has some nice rolling climbing along middle of the route and can branch off into Tollhouse or Prather if you want to get some extra miles and climbing. Starts and ends at the corner of Shaw and Academy. For some reason, I've always done this one counterclockwise, Wildcat to Watts to Burrough to Humphrey's. About 46 miles and 3,483 feet of climbing.

Tollhouse Pine Ridge : Short miles, high climbing. Both the maps and elevation profiles are one way. The Tollhouse Pine Ridge climb from the school to the ranger station is about 12.6 miles and 4,300 feet of climbing one way. The Tollhouse climb starts from the town and goes to the stop sign. About 6.5 miles and 2,860 feet of climbing one way.

Humphreys Station : There are several ways to get to Humphreys Station. It is a common point for several out and back or loop rides. A lot of rolling hills. The out and back ride is about 41 miles and 1,716 feet of climbing from Willow and Copper.

Kaiser Metric : An approximation of the Kaiser Metric route. Approximate because some of the city roads are newer than my software, the course is subject to change, and poor hand/eye/mouse coordination on the part of the software operator. DO NOT USE IT FOR ACTUAL DIRECTIONS IF YOU'RE DOING THE RIDE. About 66 miles and 3,372 feet of climbing give or take.

Shaver to Wishon : This ride follows Dinkey Creek Road from Shaver Lake to Wishon Dam at the Wishon Reservoir. This particular route starts at the 168/Dinkey Creek Road intersection and ends at the Dam. As you can see from the elevation profile going down to the dam does add a good sized dip to the ride but if you're going all that way head on down to the Dam. Just look out for the tracks on the bridge on the far side. This version is 57 miles and about 5,800 feet of climbing out and back. If driving up to Shaver to start, there is a rest stop parking lot if you turn right on Dinkey Creek and go for a half mile or so. Rest stop is on the left.

Bass Lake Loop : This is a nice loop around Bass Lake. Depending on where you start from it either an up and down ride or a down and up ride as far as climbing goes. This ride can either be done by itself or combined as a detour on the Powerhouse or Spring Valley rides. The minimart on North Fork Road marks the north turn back towards the Lake at the Southeast corner of the loop. Always seem to do this one clockwise so that's the way the elevation profiles are done. Look out for lake traffic as the roads can get a little narrow in places. A good 27 miles and 2,187 feet of climbing.

Friant - Millerton - Auberry : A quick time trial loop from Willow/Copper to Friant Rd to Millerton Rd to Auberry Rd and back. Much traffic and seems like more every day... Good for 22.5 miles and 845 feet of climbing. Add the Sky Harbour trip to this to add an additional 12 miles and 2,500 feet of climbing.

Sky Harbour : This can be an out and back added on the "Friant Millerton Auberry" to add some climbing. The turnoff is the road right next to Table Mountain Casino. Probably not quite as much as the elevation profile might indicate. Since the route hugs a lot of sharp inclines, a little mouse drift on the Topo software can have a big impact on the elevation changes. Still probably works out to about 2,500 feet over 12 miles.

Upper Kaiser : This ride follows parts of the upper part of the Climb to Kaiser. This version starts at 168 and Dinkey Creek Road, goes up Big Creek and Kaiser to Kaiser Pass and down via 168. Actual stats and ride will depend on how much snow there is (how high can you get), road construction, detours, etc. Big climbs at Big Creek and Kaiser. This version has 56.6 miles and about 8,150 feet of climbing.

Blossom Ride 100k : This is the general route for the annual Kings River Blossom Ride. It's usually in early March. As with some of the other maps for official rides this is a very UNOFFICIAL map and should NOT be used for route navigation if you decide to do the official ride. Based on the attached, it works out to around 64 miles and 2,030 feet of elevation gain. The beginning and end are very flat. The pics are from the 2007 Blossom Ride. Not a lot since the only time I took pics was when I was at the back of groups or alone.

Comparisons : A work in progress experiment with the elevation profiles... The rides on the same sheet are adjusted to be comparable in length scale and elevation scale to each other. Well, close... At least enough to see that a Tollhouse is a much shorter but higher day than a Humphrey's. Not perfect but still working on it.
